Terms of Service

What TaskBridge is

TaskBridge is a marketplace that connects people who need local services (buyers) with people who provide them (providers) in the Durham Region and Greater Toronto Area. We are not a party to the service contract between buyers and providers. When a buyer and provider agree on a job, that agreement is between them — TaskBridge facilitates the connection but does not employ providers or guarantee the outcome of any service.

User responsibilities

• Provide accurate information when creating your account and when posting or responding to requests.
• Treat other users with respect. Harassment, threats, or discriminatory language will result in account suspension.
• Keep your contact information up to date so the other party can reach you.
• Do not use the platform to solicit or conduct business outside of TaskBridge in a way that intentionally circumvents the platform.

Provider responsibilities

• Deliver services as described in your listing and as agreed with the buyer.
• Honor the price you quoted or agreed to. Do not change the price after a booking is confirmed without the buyer's consent.
• Show up when you say you will, or give reasonable notice if you need to reschedule.
• Ensure you have any required licenses, insurance, or permits for the services you offer. TaskBridge does not verify credentials — that is your responsibility.

Payments

Payments are handled directly between buyers and providers via e-Transfer, cash, or card as agreed at the time of booking. TaskBridge does not process or hold any funds. We record payment confirmations within the platform so both parties have a clear record, but we are not responsible for payment disputes. If a payment is not received, that is a matter between the buyer and provider to resolve.

Prohibited conduct

• Fake reviews — posting reviews for jobs that did not happen, or arranging for others to post fake reviews on your behalf.
• Spam — sending unsolicited messages to users for purposes unrelated to a legitimate service request.
• Fraud — misrepresenting your identity, your services, or your qualifications.
• Scraping — using automated tools to extract data from the platform.

Violations may result in immediate account termination.

Limitation of liability

TaskBridge provides a platform for connections — we are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any service performed. If something goes wrong between a buyer and a provider, we will do our best to help, but we cannot be held liable for damages arising from services arranged through the platform. To the extent permitted by Ontario law, our total liability to any user is limited to the amount of any fees paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during our free-to-use launch period, is zero).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email. Continuing to use TaskBridge after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
